Apprehended Violence Orders (AVO’s)
An AVO is a court order that prevents you from doing certain things. While it is not a criminal order or charge by itself, it can have consequences for your career, employment and ability to live your life in the way you are used to. These orders are designed to prevent specific behaviour for the protection of another person.
An AVO can have numerous different conditions restricting actions ranging from intimidating, harassing, stalking, assaulting, to communicating with or being within a certain distance of another person.
You have several options if you face a potential AVO and you RMB’s Criminal Law team can make sure that you can make the best decision for you.
